Saab 9-X BioHybrid Headed for New York

Voted Best Concept at Geneva Show

The Saab 9-X BioHybrid may have charmed the Autoweek editors, but in the flesh the concept failed to impress us. Mostly because the concept had no engine, showed too many loose wires and looked slightly 'unfinished', with that said, the black and white interior was very striking and the extendable roof spoiler is a nice touch. Now that the concept's world debut is out of the way, the next port of call is the New York International Auto Show which starts next week.

“After its stunning performance in Geneva, we can’t wait to show the 9-X BioHybrid to the press and public here in America,” said Steve Shannon, Saab Automobile USA general manager.

“The shape of the 9-X is right for a car of this size, and the longer roof line helps the aerodynamics and provides more rear headroom and interior space.” said Anthony Lo, director of Advanced Design at General Motors Europe. “It has a number of features that we will be developing further, such as the new driver-focused design theme, the importance of clean, uncluttered surfaces and the easy, seamless connectivity inside the car.”
